2010 Refuge Photo Contest Winners Announced!
We are proud to announce the winners of the 2010 Refuge Photo Contest. More than 800 images taken by photographers from 44 states were submitted to this fourth annual Refuge Photo Contest, undeniable evidence that refuges are outstanding places to view wildlife and experience America’s diverse heritage.
Images from the contest will be added to the NWRA Refuge Image Library, a gallery of high quality photographs showcasing the rich and varied wildlife and habitat protected by our country’s National Wildlife Refuge System. The NWRA congratulates the winners for their spectacular images and important role in helping build visibility for the 150-million-acre National Wildlife Refuge System.
The NWRA wishes to thank Southwest Airlines - the official airline of NWRA - for its contribution of two round trip tickets and $2,000 first place cash prize. In addition, special thanks toWild Bird Centers of America, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and HaberVision for providing prizes in recognition of the winning photographers.
